WEDNESDAY Let’s climb up the Matagalls 1697M - Hiking in Montseny

The plan Let’s hike up together to this mythical summit of “El Montseny”. It’s considered one of the 100 essential peaks by the FEEC (Catalan Hiking Federation): "100 CIMS". This route offers a big variety of landscapes. We’ll walk through a beautiful beech forest but also through meadows and pasture lands with wonderful views of the Pyrenees and its surroundings. We’ll find some interesting vestiges such as an old ice well or the Sant Segimon sanctuary, which will give us valuable information about the past life of these mountains and of their inhabitants. We will also visit the Sant Miquel dels Barretons chapel, in which, according to the legend, “if you leave your hat inside, it will cure all your headaches”. We’ll have to try😊 !

How do we get there? We will go by public transport or in shared private cars (if some of you have cars) We'll take RENFE train R3 ( direction Puigcerda) until Estació Rodalies de Balenyà and from there we'll catch a bus from the natural Park of Montseny until Collformic. From SANT ANDREU ARENAL station in Barcelona the departure is at 07:18, but we will meet at 07:00 (€11 round trip). The bus departs at 08:36h (€2,4 round trip).

During the booking process you’ll be invited to tell us if you have a car and how many people can come with you. If we have enough cars we'll change the logistics in order to get there by car. Each passenger will pay €10 to the driver to cover gas and tolls expenses.

Cancellation policy: if cancellation till 72h before the beginning of the activity, 50% will be charged. If late cancellation (less than 72h before), full payment will be requested.
