Volcanos of La Garrotxa & La Fageda d’en Jorda - Hike

The Natural Park of the Volcanic zone of La Garrotxa is a unique region in Spain for being the best example of volcanic landscape of the Peninsula. Located in the eastern Pyrenees this park is famous for its 40 volcanic cones, 10 craters and 20 basaltic lava flows.

We’ll go for a beautiful hike through the beech forest of Fageda d'en Jorda where we’ll enjoy the fantastic seasonal colours of the trees and will try to immortalize them with our camera. We’ll discover the ancient volcano of Santa Margarita (with its hermitage built in the center of the crater), and the Volcano del Croscat with its horseshoe-shaped crater which is about 160 m high. Then we’ll drive to the medieval town of Santa Pau and its typical urban landscape full of charm and, why not taste some of its gastronomic offer (optional).

Difficulty: easy 13km hike with 270m level difference. Good for everyone that is used to walk 4 hours. 

How do we get there?  By shared private cars from Barcelona. During the booking process you’ll be invited to tell us if you have a car and how many people can come with you in the car. Each passenger will pay €10 to the driver to cover gas and tolls expenses.You can also meet us on the spot at 9:40 AM.

Bring hiking shoes, hat, water, picnic, snacks, sunscreen, walking sticks (optional but recommended), raincoat just in case.

Total price of activity €20 

Advance payment: €10 (the remaining €10 are to be paid in cash on the day)

Includes: official mountain guide, insurance in case of accident+CL.

Do not include transportation (€10 to the driver).

Cancellation policy: if cancellation till 72h before the beginning of the activity, 50% will be charged. If late cancellation (less than 72h before), full payment will be requested.
