The plan
Everyone has surely heard of Sakura, the flowering of cherry trees in Japan; or that of the Jerte valley, in Extremadura, or the lavender fields in French Provence... well, in Catalonia, the fields scattered throughout the Segrià region are a real beauty when the good weather starts to show up. The town of Aitona is perhaps the best location to observe the flowering of peach and nectarine trees.
We'll go for an easy 14km hike and enjoy the stunning colours of the trees and the Utxesa reservoir, which is the blue sea of Bajo Segre, with a great biodiversity of plants and animal species.
