What is ENTIRE COSTA BRAVA 220km CHALLENGE?

Here is a plan we've been thinking about since a long time. Let's hike the complete trail along the wild Catalan coastline: the Camino de Ronda! From its start at Roca de Sa Palomera in Blanes to its northernmost point in Portbou, there are more than 220km. We're going to go through it in several weekend stages! You can sign up for all the stages to complete the full challenge but you can also sign up for the stages that suit you best depending on your availability.

About these 2 stages: Sant Feliu de Guíxols to Begur

On day 1, we'll start at Sant Feliu de Guíxols hiking north through beautiful coves like Cala Belladona, Cala Cap Roig or Can Cristus among many others. Once we get to Palamós we'll go to the most beautiful beach in that town, "la Fosca", where we'll stay in a beautiful hostel on the seafront.

On the second day we'll keep on going with our stage of our challenge and we'll continue along the Camino de Ronda heading north until we reach Begur, one of the most beautiful villages of all Costa Brava. There we'll take the bus back to Barcelona.

Difficulty: easy-intermediate. Routes between 6 and 8 hours each day. The distances are pretty long but the gain of altitude is reasonable. 

Day 1: from Sant Feliu de Guíxols to la Fosca, Palamós

Distance: 21Km 

Elevation gain: 200+

For the first day we have an escape point on the middle of the route in case someone wants to save energy for the next day. There's a bus that goes from Platja d'Aro to Palamós (€1,8)

Day 2: from la Fosca, Palamós to Begur

Distance: 20Km

Elevation gain: 530+

For the second day we have an escape point on the middle of the route in case someone wants to save energy for the next day. There's a bus that goes from Llafranc to Palafrugell and from there you could go to Barcelona (between €2-€5)

Accommodation: We'll be staying in Palamós, in a pleasant hostel in front of the famous beach "la Fosca". We'll sleep in double rooms with single beds and private bathroom. Breakfast is included (fabulous according to booking:)

If you want to stay in a single room, please contact us so we can inform you. (supplement of approx. +50€/night /subject to availability).

For meals, each one will bring their own picnic. For dinner, we'll optionally offer you to go to a local restaurant to celebrate New Year's Eve all toghether (each one will pay for its own food and drinks).

How we'll get there? As it's a linear and not a circular hike, we'll go by public transport. To get to Sant feliu de Guíxols by bus from Barcelona. We'll return from Begur also by bus. The cost of the bus ticket is €20 rond trip if you want Yepalo to buy the ticket for you with a special discount (if you prefer to buy it on your own it costs €35,55 round trip through the website: https://compras.moventis.es/online/search ).

Nor does it include any expenses related to abandoning the route in the middle of the day.

If cancellation till 72h before the beginning of the activity, 50% will be charged. If late cancellation (less than 72h before), full payment will be requested.
