The Pedraforca (2,506m), is one of the most emblematic mountains of Catalonia. Its particular shape with its 2 twin peaks (some says it has a heart shape) have given birth to many legends for centuries. The hike to the top of the Pedraforca has become one of the mythical excursions every mountaineer should do in Catalonia. Located between the municipalities of Saldes and Gósol, in Berguedà, the Pedraforca mountain is part of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park and its surroundings were declared a "natural site of national interest".
We'll do the hike from and back to the picturesque vilage of Gosol. Starting the ascent to Pedraforca from Gósol provides a quieter and often more solitary mountain experience, with fewer hikers on the trail and greater chances to spot wildlife.
