The Plan

We'll go to Caldes de Montbui where we will enjoy a nice quiet hike of 2-3h, followed by the best Spanish omelette (tortilla de patatas) in town and an hour of total relaxation in its famous thermal baths (optional + €7).

Caldes de Montbui is located at just 35km from Barcelona in the Vallès Oriental region. Its name comes from its hot springs waters (Caldes). The water comes out of its famous fountain (Font de Lleó) at a temperature of 74ºc. It's one of the hottest springs in Europe. The Romans decided to build a spa, which can still be visited nowadays. It is the best preserved Roman hot springs of the peninsula.

Program of the day:

1. Walk to the old Iberian village.

We will do a circular hike of 2-3 hours to discover the nature around Caldes de Montbui. We will go up to the remains of the Iberian village (Poble Iberic) and we'll keep gaining some altitude afterwards in order to enjoy stunning views on Caldes and its surroundings.

2.Visit of the town

We'll go for a tour of the old neighborhood and its thermal district. We'll walk on its medieval wall, will discover some jewels of the modernist architecture and some of the curiosities of this beautiful little town (surprise:).

3.The best tortilla in town

We will eat the best potato omelette in the area. If you don't feel like eating tortillas, you can also order something else from the menu or bring your own picnic.

4.Enjoy the thermal baths (optional)

Finally, with those who are interested, we'll go to the thermal baths and dip in its hot waters. Do not miss it, it is the best way to end the day.

We'll have 1 hours session. During the booking process you'll be invited to let us know if you want to go so that we can book a spot for you. 

Difficulty: easy. Hike of 9km approx with 340m level difference. Suitable for anyone used to walk for 2-3 hours.

How do we get there? We'll go by public transport or in shared private cars (if some of you have cars).

During the booking process you’ll be invited to tell us if you have a car and how many people can come with you. If we have enough cars we'll change the logistics in order to get there by car. Each passenger will pay €5 to the driver to cover gas and tolls expenses.

You can also join us directly at Caldes de Montbui at 10:00am.

Bring walking shoes, hat, water, snacks, sunscreen, walking sticks (optional), raincoat (just in case), and if you want to go to the thermal baths: swimsuit, flip flops, towel and bathing cap.

Cancellation policy: if cancellation till 72h before the beginning of the activity, €10 will be charged. If late cancellation (less than 72h before), full payment (€20) will be requested.
