Congost de Mont-rebei- Hiking & Kayaking weekend

The Congost de Mont-rebei it is an impressive gorge that forms the natural border between Aragón and Catalonia. The nature has been digging a path inside the rock that allows us to walk next to the cliffs enjoying breathtaking views on the turquoise water reservoir, just as if we were flying just above it.

During this weekend, we'll discover this stunning natural wonder and we'll go for another kayaking/hiking adventure that will not leave you indifferent

 

Price: 158 € (€135 if you have a car and if you can pick up 3 people or more from Barcelona - choose driver's ticket)

The Plan

We will leave Barcelona early on Saturday morning, destination Serra del Montsec. Once there, we’ll hike and discover the Congost de Mont-rebei with its awesome path dug into a wall of more than 500 meters high and a canyon that at its narrowest point barely reaches 30 meters wide. 

On Sunday we'll go kayaking in the reservoir and enjoy another impressive Congost from the water level. We'll also be able to see the impressive natural Muralla/wall of Finestres and optionnaly walk up to the abandoned village of Finestres.  Be ready for spectacular panoramic views over the reservoir and discover a beautiful hermitage built in a very unusual place. It's a pretty unknown area, in an uncrowded and stunning natural place where we'll be able to enjoy tranquillity and peace.

In the afternoon, we’ll go back to Barcelona (approx. arrival time 8-9 P.M.)

 

Difficulty level

Moderate. The hikes are not suitable for people with vertigo or fear of heights, as we will pass very close to some cliffs and over some overhanging structures such as bridges, etc.

The Kayak is adapted for beginners. 

Accommodation and meals

We will stay in a hostel in Ager in a spacious mixed dormitory for our group (bunk beds). There are shared bathrooms.

 

How we'll get there?

We'll be sharing private cars. When you sign up, you'll be invited to let us know if you have a car, and how many people can come with you. Each passenger will pay 25€ to the driver for gas and tolls. 

What to bring?

• Hiking shoes
• Waterproof jacket or raincoat (just in case)
• Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
• Walking sticks (optional)
• Swimsuit and towel
• Backpack
• Water (1,5L)
• Snacks
• Towel and sheets/or sleeping bag (or you can rent the set of sheets and towels at the hostel for €4)

Price Includes:

• 1-night accommodation

• 1 Breakfast on Sunday

• 1 day of hiking with a certified mountain guide

• 1 day of kayaking with a certified kayaking guide

• Insurance in case of accident + CL.

Not included: 

• Transportation (25€/passenger to be paid to the driver) 

• Other meals (Picnic +€7 

• +€7,5 if you want a single kayak instead of sharing a double kayak

Change of plans? No sweat. Cancel up to 72 hours before and it's 50% refund.

Cancellation later than 72 hours before? Bummer, the full payment is required, but if we manage to fill your spot last minute with someone else, we'll hook you up with a voucher for a future adventure! ✨
